Faster!

Try it faster with a deeper bass and heavier drums and you got it made! :o

boney-man responds:

Faster?? Heavier drums?? Deeper Bass??
#1. I think 180 bpm is plenty fast enough :D
#2. The drums are already pretty heavy... I don't want to go overboard...
#3. Ok, MAYBE deeper bass, but which do you mean? The reece or sub-bass? Because the reece sounds HORRIBLE lower. I tried it :D

Thanks for the review.

Edit: I'm loling at my response. I still think 180 bpm is fast enough, the drums need to be way punchier and the reese should be playing the same thing as the sub... the reese also is not good, and the high sub note hurts my ears. lol, but I'm not gonna bother trying to fix this song.

Two Words

More bass.

Songs for a person to groove needs heavy beats. You got the awesome rhythms and melody, but there needs to be deeper drums.

However, I love the synthy thing you used in the beginning. :)

Kombat-Chuck responds:

I think you are right. Thanks!

Very nice and Calm

Where did you get those samples? I have FL7 and I can't get any classical strings.

Anyway, the song:
Nice slow, calm moving piece. I imagine a meadow. lol

However, there is one problem:
it's kind of repetitive, and it seems like you rushed the ending. It would be better if there was some low bass or cello in the background.

Cool song!

I use a VST called Dimension Pro... I would suggest looking into buying it :)

Nice!

A lot of effort must have been put into this! Reminds me of those stop-motion percussion vids on youtube. Great job!

Hmm, I'll have to check them out. Cheers.

Cooooooooool

This is different from your other pieces of music, but in a good way.

I can imagine this guy out for revenge. He kills all those crooked and corrupted government people who wanted him dead after finding a very powerful device. However, after he kills all of them, he becomes consumed in his rage and slowly turns into a large creature forever trapped in his own rage and sorrow.

You should make more of this type of music. First the tanks song and now this. Brilliant! :)

MaestroRage responds:

Becoming the monster that he was bent on destroying eh? A sad and horrible fate for any hero who steps out to achieve something. But such is the fate of heros who have no inner strength.

These type of songs are brilliant for epic tracks, i'm thinking of making a long and powerful one next. These loops are for the contest, I want to make one now thats 3 minutes long, and can REALLY move around!

Thank you for the review scoutzero! I'm glad you liked it!

Another story! I enjoy writing these things. :)

There is a kingdom in the mountains that is under siege by a huge army of evil soldiers and tanks from the kingdom on the other side of the mountains. The people are starving, and they are resorting to eating their own dead.

However, there is a new hope, albeit sad. In the beginning of the song, the enemy forces say that they will exchange much need food supplies for human prisoners for them to sacrifice to their gods. The king, weak and desperate, calls for volunteers. About twenty of the king's personal guards volunteer, and are escorted out of the kingdom's walls towards the enemy army in handcuffs. They face the dangers like men, and in turn the enemy delivers five huge trucks' worth of rice and veggies. The prisoners are led to a platform in front of all the enemy soldiers. Then, they look at their kingdom for one last time before they are beheaded arubtly.

Yeah, heavy LOTR inspiration and gritty ending.

Now, on to the song:

WOW! YOU NEED TO BECOME A FILM COMPOSER! SERIOUSLY, YOU CAN MAKE IT!

AWESOME SONG!

those poor troops. I've always had a soft spot for self sacrifice. picturing them looking at their broken kingdom, their homes, friends and families slain.

Man, I love to hate those moments in my head. Maybe i'm just a pansy.

As for becoming a film composer, nah ;). I'd love to help filmers, and game artists etc, but I don't think I would want to do it as a job. Purely because it would be a challenge to undergo!

Thank you for the review and story again scout. I am glad you liked it ^^.

Cool!

Great song! And here comes a story!

Okay, so this search party searches the snow for a missing group of soldiers, and they overlook a cliff to reveal *gasp* a large primitive settlement that stretches out beyond the horizon. They go down and hear bells ring, but when they move in, they find the settlement to be abandoned.

They see a strange thing in the settlement though, a large building rises out of the settlement. The bell is tolling from the large cathedral-like building. The search party goes inside to continue their search and the doors close behind them.

lol. I wrote it as the music was playing, so it's rough. Great music though, and very visual. :)

MaestroRage responds:

they go into the cathedral eh? In an abandoned village with complete disregard to wondering WHY the village is empty and this one building is till working?!

O_O

poor bastards. I'm sure once they're in there they'll want out, only to be refused exit. Thats how it always is :'(

In any case, thank you for the story scoutzero, I enjoyed reading it, and again for the review, i'm glad you liked it ^^

Amazing!

I listened to this with earphones and I have to say: This is cinematic material! I can imagine all those spacescapes and stuff. You've really captured the feeling. XD

Great job!

BTW, reminds me of Space Invaders too for some odd reason.

TheAmateurAnimator responds:

Space Invaders? O.o

Thanks!

Lol

This is making me think of GWB dancing. ><

The drums need work and more diversity, as people probably already have said, and the Bush samples should be a bit longer.

Still, great try!!!

SineRider responds:

It was kind of hard to find anything really funny to put in so I used it a bit like a glitch effect on him

Hm

I'm guessing you were doing some experienting here.

Pretty good, but if you add some soft yet wierd noise in the background, it would give it a more vast feel.

Keep working though!

heather-lanham responds:

good idea! thanks! :3
