I think this sounds great! It flows, it sounds peaceful, it soothes the soul all the way up until the oboe comes in. Then it sort of loses its peacefulness. Personally, I think that if you modify the oboe melody a little bit, it would sound a lot nicer and better contribute to the song as a whole :) There's a lot to like about this song. Keep it up! :D

Nice

The beginning made it sound like it was going to be an ominous piece, but I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxing piece that followed. My only gripe are the drums. I don't know, it might be because I'm used to listening to certain types of music (DnB, breakbeat, dubstep), but I think the song would work better with those type of beats (like near the end of your song), especially since that kick of yours is pretty powerful XD

Other than that, though, great sound, great samples, great potential :D

Doumaaa responds:

Hey there, that's one thing I still need to learn. To make good drums. I used the basic drumset in fruity loops and yeah I agree, I made them a bit choppy-like. Not a very smooth beat, but as they say, practice makes perfect, so hopefully, in time, I'll get there.. thanks for the 8 and a worthy review!

Sparks Visions :D

This song really does put calming images in your mind. It's peaceful and otherworldly, yet at the same time not too retro-spacey. I like it, and I shall give it a 5. :)

Btw, 18 happens to be my favorite number. Awesome! XD

DjUntold responds:

Hey man! Thanks for taking the time to leave me a review.
I'm glad you liked it, and that's pretty cool that it's your favorite number :P All the better!

Uberly Awesome

The flutes really give this song an exotic feel. I can totally imagine a sunset or sunrise on an exotic island. Great job as always.

My only complaint is that it's too short. :P

MaestroRage responds:

Thank you very much. I tried to make it sound as exotic as possible. As for length, well, the dream was very short in itself. When I run out of things to say, I also generally run out of things to write musically as well. Thank you for listening!

O_______O

In my caffeinated state of mind, I unconsciously clicked this song, and then I started to feel really, REALLY hyper. That's good, though! This song is awesomely hyper, and it's enjoyable when you're caffeinated :D

Great Boss Song

I could imagine this song as the theme for some mechanical or modern boss, like a cyber ninja or something. However, it would be awesome if there was some subdued, sad segment in the middle of it, to give the song a more sorrowful edge, like the boss you're fighting is a tragic boss. xD

I enjoy the brass line, and the drums really blend in. You should make more! :D

This is a style I haven't tackled in a while, so possibly.

dude

If someone is at a party, walks over to a piano and starts playing this on the piano, he or she is going to get popular real quick. Seriously, this is awesome on two different levels. On one level, we hear awesome piano songs and wonder what it would be like to play them, and on another level we become overcome with nostalgia and remember those awesome times. :)

Good job, and I'm going to listen to the other parts now :D

Nice atmosphere

I like the atmosphere this song exhales, and it really creates a calm and soothing presence. However, the sounds are a bit loud and in your face, creating a mastering issue. The song itself is great, but the mastering could use a little work. The drums are great, though! No need to change that. :)

Love the Bass

I think the thing that makes this song great is the kickass OOMPH on the kicks. Especially in the buildup. Anyway, this is a really well rounded song, although the piano could use some downsizing because it really explodes at times.

Nice song!

mrpibbs1 responds:

Ah yeah that kick is quite nice.
I agree about the piano getting too loud and thank you for the review.

Soothing, Calm, Awesome

This song reminds me of those Japanese video game OSTs, particularly Masashi Hamauzu. That's a really great thing, to be reminded of a professional prestigious composer. :)

I like the overall feeling of this piece. I picture a peaceful day at some place with puffy clouds, blue sky, and a soft calming wind that carries leaves into some lagoon or sea. Seriously, though, great stuff here.

Good luck on your future work! :D
